Population, Health, and Armed
Conflict Research Network

Who We Are

Founded in 2020, the Population Health and Armed Conflict (PHAC) Research Network is a community of scholars dedicated to advancing understanding and awareness of the effect of wars and armed conflict on individuals, communities, and societies globally.

What We Do

The PHAC Network supports research on armed conflict, population, and health through a range of activities, including monthly virtual seminars by leading PHAC scholars and in-person workshops focused on PHAC themes. We also provide leadership of journal special issues, grant applications, and other collaborative efforts. We seek to garner resources for research on PHAC topics, especially that conducted by junior researchers and researchers from conflict-affected regions.

Why?

Armed conflict does not rest and demands greater academic attention. Therefore, PHAC mobilizes interdisciplinary, intellectual community; facilitates exchange and collaboration; and catalyzes high quality PHAC research.
